Seagate Expansion SSD 500GB Portable External SSD (STJD500400) – USB 3.0, Up to 400MB/s

Simple, fast portable storage: plug in, drag and drop, done.

The Seagate Expansion SSD 500GB is a compact, bus-powered portable SSD that transfers files at up to 400MB/s over USB 3.0. Weighing about 65g, it is designed for students, home users and professionals who want quick backups and file transfers with a drive that has no moving parts.

Why Fast, Simple Backups Need an SSD

Portable hard drives are inexpensive, but slow transfers and fragile mechanics make them a chore for frequent backups. When backups take too long, people skip them, which is when files get lost.

The Expansion SSD replaces spinning platters with flash memory for transfers of up to 400MB/s in a pocket-size case. Copying folders, photo libraries and videos becomes quick enough to do every day.

Drag-and-Drop Speed

At up to 400MB/s, the Expansion SSD moves large folders and media files in a fraction of the time a hard drive needs, and it opens files stored on it almost instantly.

Easy, Portable and Reliable

Bus power, a light 65g body and solid-state construction make it simple to carry between home, school and office. Seagate Toolkit can automate backups if you prefer scheduled protection.
