Description

The Optoma GT1090HDRx is a 1080p short throw laser projector with 4,200 lumens of brightness. Built for home theater and casual gaming in tight spaces, it throws a 120-inch image from just over four feet and uses a 30,000-hour laser, so there are no lamps to buy or swap.

Deep-Dive Story & Problem/Solution

A Bright Big Screen Without Rearranging the Whole Room

Standard-throw projectors dictate the room layout: the unit goes behind the seating, cables cross the floor or ceiling, and everyone avoids the beam. In family rooms that double as play space, that arrangement rarely lasts.

The GT1090HDRx works from a table or shelf about four feet from the wall. Its 0.50:1 lens converts each foot of distance into two feet of image width, giving a 100 to 120-inch picture where a TV stand would normally sit.

A laser phosphor engine supplies 4,200 lumens for up to 30,000 hours. Compared with lamps, it reaches full brightness faster and holds its output longer, and the sealed design needs no filter.

Bright Short Throw Picture

300,000:1 dynamic contrast and HDR compatibility give films and sport strong punch. Image sizes from about 37 to 301 inches are possible, with horizontal and vertical keystone for alignment.

Ready for Everyday Family Use

Two HDMI inputs, two USB ports, RJ-45, and RS-232 handle home and light commercial setups. Dual 10W speakers mean a streaming stick and power are all you need to start watching.

Setup Instructions

How to Set Up the Optoma GT1090HDRx

  1. Put the projector on a stable surface 4 to 5 feet from the wall or screen.
  2. Plug a streaming device or console into the HDMI 2.0 input.
  3. Turn the focus ring until the image is sharp and apply keystone only if the edges are not parallel.
  4. Choose a picture mode to match the lighting; use Eco mode in dark rooms to lower fan noise to 30dB.
