Key Value Highlights

  • 32GB DDR5-4800 RDIMM – Affordable way to fill every DDR5 channel.
  • Single rank x4 (1Rx4) – Lower power with chipkill-capable organization.
  • EC8 ECC plus on-die ECC – DDR5 server error protection at two levels.
  • On-module PMIC, 1.1V – Stable DDR5 power regulation.

Description

Entry-capacity DDR5 RDIMMs that fill every channel for full bandwidth.

The Samsung M321R4GA3BB6-CQK is a 32GB DDR5-4800 ECC Registered DIMM with a single-rank x4 layout. It suits organizations building Intel Xeon Scalable and AMD EPYC servers that need every memory channel populated for full bandwidth, such as web, application, and HPC compute nodes.

Why DDR5 RDIMMs Matter for High-Core-Count Servers

Current-generation servers have more cores per socket than ever, and each core needs memory bandwidth. DDR5 RDIMMs answer that with higher transfer rates and two independent 40-bit subchannels per module, which keep more requests in flight at once.

DDR5 also moves power regulation onto the module with a dedicated PMIC and adds on-die ECC inside each DRAM chip, in addition to the standard side-band ECC handled by the memory controller. The result is cleaner power delivery and stronger error protection at higher speeds.

DDR5 servers reach full bandwidth only when all memory channels are populated. 32GB modules make that affordable: eight channels give 256GB per Xeon socket, and twelve give 384GB per EPYC socket.

Full Bandwidth at Lower Cost

Compute-heavy HPC and web nodes often need bandwidth more than capacity. Populating every channel with 32GB modules achieves both at a reasonable cost.

Single-Rank Efficiency

A single-rank x4 module draws less power than dual-rank modules and works well where one DIMM per channel is used.

How to Install the Samsung 32GB Server Memory

  1. Shut down the server, disconnect all power cords, and wear an anti-static wrist strap.
  2. Open the chassis and follow the vendor’s DIMM population guide so channels are balanced across each processor.
  3. Align the module notch with the slot key and press evenly until both ejector latches lock.
  4. Power on, allow memory training to finish, and confirm capacity, speed, and ECC status in BIOS or the management controller (iDRAC, iLO, XClarity, IPMI).
