1. Confirm your NAS or server lists the drive model as compatible and check bay count.
2. Power down (or use hot-swap if supported) and mount the drive in its tray.
3. Let the NAS detect the drive, then create a pool or expand an existing RAID 5/6/10 volume.
4. Schedule S.M.A.R.T. tests and enable alerts so failing drives are replaced early.
