PoE-capable 930W power for Juniper EX4200 access switches.
The Juniper EX-PWR2-930-AC is a 930W AC hot-swappable power supply for Juniper EX4200 series switches. It provides the PoE power budget for EX4200 PoE models and accepts 100–240V AC input. It suits network teams powering IP phones, wireless access points and cameras from EX4200 switches.
Why PoE Switches Need Higher-Capacity Supplies
A PoE switch powers both itself and every connected phone, access point and camera. Standard non-PoE supplies cannot provide that extra power, so PoE devices stay dark.
The EX-PWR2-930-AC provides 930W, which covers the switch and the PoE budget of EX4200 PoE models. A redundant second supply keeps endpoints powered if one fails.
Hot-Swap Replacement
The supply slides into the rear of the EX4200 and can be replaced while the switch is running when a redundant supply is installed. Junos reports PSU status and the available PoE budget.
Planning the PoE Budget
Check the total power of connected devices against the switch’s PoE budget. With 930W supplies, EX4200 PoE models can power more high-draw devices such as PoE+ access points.
Setup Instructions
How to Replace the Juniper EX-PWR2-930-AC
- Confirm the part number is listed as supported for your Juniper EX4200 switch, and confirm it is a PoE model that supports 930W supplies.
- If the device has a second working power supply, leave it running; otherwise schedule a maintenance window and power the device down.
- Disconnect the AC or DC cord from the failed unit, release the latch and slide it out, then slide the new module into the empty bay until it locks.
- Connect the power cord, check that the PSU status LED turns green, and confirm in the device CLI or management interface that the supply reports OK.
