How to Install the Synology SAT5221-3840G

1. Check that your Synology NAS or SAN model lists the SAT5221 in its compatibility list and update DSM.
2. Mount the SSD in a drive tray using the 2.5-inch screw positions (or tool-less clips where supported).
3. Insert the tray into a free bay; hot-swap is supported on most Synology models.
4. In Storage Manager, create an all-flash storage pool or configure an SSD cache.
