Description

Keep ProLiant DL380 G6 and G7 servers redundant with a hot-plug 1225W supply.

The HP HSTNS-PC01 (SP668) is a 1225W hot-plug power supply for HP ProLiant DL380 G6 and G7 servers. It slides into the server’s power bay, supports redundant configurations and accepts 100–240V AC input. It suits IT teams maintaining legacy ProLiant servers that still run production or lab workloads.

Maintaining Power Redundancy on Legacy ProLiant Servers

DL380 G6 and G7 servers are often configured with two power supplies. When one fails, the server keeps running on the other, but it has lost its protection against a second failure.

The HSTNS-PC01 restores that redundancy. It slides into the empty power bay while the server stays online, begins sharing the load and reports its status to iLO.

Capacity for Fully Loaded Servers

A 1225W rating supports dual-processor DL380 configurations with full memory and drive bays, leaving headroom for continuous operation.

Hot-Plug and iLO Monitoring

The supply can be installed or removed without shutting down the server. iLO and the front health LEDs report its status, so failures are easy to detect and confirm.

Setup Instructions

How to Replace the HSTNS-PC01 in a ProLiant DL380

  1. Confirm the part number is listed as supported for your ProLiant DL380 G6/G7 server, and check that your AC circuit is rated for the supply’s input current.
  2. If the device has a second working power supply, leave it running; otherwise schedule a maintenance window and power the device down.
  3. Disconnect the AC or DC cord from the failed unit, release the latch and slide it out, then slide the new module into the empty bay until it locks.
  4. Connect the power cord, check that the PSU status LED turns green, and confirm in the device CLI or management interface that the supply reports OK.
