Seagate Ultra Touch SSD 1TB Portable External SSD (STJW1000401) – USB-C, Up to 400MB/s

Pocket-size SSD storage that moves files up to three times faster than a portable hard drive.

The Seagate Ultra Touch SSD 1TB is a compact, bus-powered external SSD with a USB-C connection and transfer speeds up to 400MB/s. It suits students, travelers and home-office users who need fast backups, photo and video transfers, and a drive with no moving parts that tolerates daily handling.

Why Portable Hard Drives Hold Back Everyday Backups

Portable hard drives offer cheap capacity, but they top out around 100–130MB/s and rely on spinning platters that can be damaged by a single drop while running. Long transfer times also discourage regular backups, which is when data loss happens.

The Ultra Touch SSD replaces the platters with NAND flash. Transfers of up to 400MB/s shorten backup windows to minutes, and the solid-state design is far less sensitive to the knocks of daily travel, making it practical to back up more often.

Fast File Transfers for Photos, Video and Documents

At up to 400MB/s over USB 3.0 (USB 3.2 Gen 1), the drive moves a 10GB video project in well under a minute in typical conditions. It works with Windows and macOS after formatting, and is a good fit for tablets with USB-C ports.

Compact, Durable Design for Daily Carry

The aluminum-bodied enclosure weighs about 65g and measures 75 x 55.5 x 10mm. With no moving parts and bus power, it is simple to use on the move with nothing more than the included cable.

How to Set Up the Seagate Ultra Touch SSD 1TB
