WD_BLACK P40 Game Drive SSD 2TB (WDBAWY0020BBK-WESN) – USB 3.2 Gen 2×2, Up to 2,000MB/s, RGB

2,000MB/s portable game storage with RGB that matches your setup.

The WD_BLACK P40 Game Drive SSD 2TB is a portable SSD for PC and console gamers. Over USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 it reaches up to 2,000MB/s, twice the speed of standard USB SSDs. Customizable RGB lighting, a shock-resistant build and console compatibility make it a fast, durable way to carry a large game library.

Why Console and PC Gamers Run Out of Fast Storage

Game sizes have exploded, and internal storage on consoles and gaming laptops fills quickly. Portable hard drives add space, but their 100–150MB/s speeds mean slow load times and long transfers when moving games between systems.

The P40 brings NVMe-class speed to external storage. On a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 port it transfers at up to 2,000MB/s, and on standard USB ports it still outpaces hard drives by a wide margin, letting you move, archive and play games far faster.

Twice the Speed of Typical USB SSDs

With a 20Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 port, the P40 delivers up to 2,000MB/s, ideal for loading and archiving large PC games. On 10Gb/s ports it runs at up to about 1,000MB/s.

Built for Gamers on the Move

The P40’s rugged enclosure is rated shock-resistant up to 2 meters, and its RGB lighting can be customized or synced with your setup through WD_BLACK Dashboard.
