The Intel E98791-007 is a 750W 80 PLUS Platinum hot-plug redundant power supply for Intel P4000, R1000 and R2000 family server chassis. It accepts 100–240V AC input and slides into the chassis power bay. It suits IT teams running Intel server platforms that need efficient, redundant power.
Efficient Redundant Power for Always-On Servers
Servers run around the clock, so power supply efficiency directly affects electricity and cooling costs. A failed supply also removes redundancy and leaves the server one failure away from an outage.
The E98791-007 addresses both. Its 80 PLUS Platinum rating keeps conversion losses low, and its hot-plug design lets you restore redundancy while the server keeps running.
Hot-Plug Redundancy
In a 1+1 configuration, either supply can carry the server. Remove the failed module, slide in the E98791-007 and it begins sharing the load immediately, with status visible in the server management interface.
Broad Intel Chassis Support
The module fits Intel P4000 pedestal and R1000/R2000 rack server families that use this power supply form factor, simplifying spare-parts stocking across mixed Intel server fleets.
Setup Instructions
How to Replace the Intel E98791-007
- Confirm the part number is listed as supported for your Intel server, and check that the server’s other supply is the same 750W model.
- If the device has a second working power supply, leave it running; otherwise schedule a maintenance window and power the device down.
- Disconnect the AC or DC cord from the failed unit, release the latch and slide it out, then slide the new module into the empty bay until it locks.
- Connect the power cord, check that the PSU status LED turns green, and confirm in the device CLI or management interface that the supply reports OK.
