The Seagate FireCuda 530R 4TB is a PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe M.2 2280 SSD for gamers, streamers and content creators. It combines a Phison E18 controller with 3D TLC NAND to reach up to 7,400MB/s reads and 1.3 million IOPS, with a 5,050 TBW endurance rating that suits sustained large writes.
Why Large Game Libraries and 4K Projects Need a High-Endurance Gen4 Drive
Game installs now exceed 100GB, and 4K or 8K video projects write hundreds of gigabytes per session. Many high-capacity drives rely on QLC NAND, which slows down once the cache fills and carries lower endurance ratings, which shows up as stutter during long exports or installs.
The FireCuda 530R uses TLC NAND and an eight-channel Phison E18 controller with DRAM, so sustained writes stay fast and endurance reaches 5,050TB written. That combination lets a single 4TB drive serve as both a fast game library and a working drive for demanding creative projects.
Top-Tier PCIe Gen4 Performance
With up to 7,400MB/s sequential read, 6,800MB/s write and 1.3M IOPS, the 530R is among the fastest Gen4 drives available. Games load quickly, DirectStorage titles stream assets efficiently, and large media files open and save with minimal waiting.
Endurance and Reliability for Heavy Use
The 5,050 TBW rating and 1.8-million-hour MTBF give headroom for years of daily heavy writing. Seagate SeaTools provides health monitoring and firmware updates.
