Deep-Dive Story & Problem/Solution
Home Entertainment Projectors Must Cope With Daylight and Awkward Placement
A projector for a family room has to work in the afternoon, sit wherever the furniture allows, and stream without a tangle of extra boxes. Models designed for dark theaters fall short on all three.
The TK860i delivers 3,300 ANSI lumens from a 4K UHD DLP engine with a 50,000:1 contrast ratio and 10-bit HDR processing. Bright scenes hold color and dark scenes keep detail when some light is present.
Its 1.13–1.47:1 lens with 1.3x zoom, vertical lens shift, and 2D keystone allow off-center placement. Android TV provides streaming and voice search over Wi-Fi.
Bright 4K HDR Picture
Image sizes from about 30 to 300 inches are supported, with a 100-inch picture from roughly 8.2 to 10.7 feet. Input lag is 17.9ms at 4K/60Hz and 8.7ms at 1080p/240Hz.
Connected and Quiet
Three HDMI 2.0 ports, three USB ports, optical audio, RS-232, and a 12V trigger are fitted. Noise is 30dB (28dB Eco), and the lamp lasts up to 15,000 hours in Eco mode.
