A 1.6x zoom, generous horizontal and vertical lens shift, HDBaseT, and a 20,000-hour laser give integrators the flexibility and uptime that fixed installs demand.
Deep-Dive Story & Problem/Solution
Fixed Installs Fail When the Projector Cannot Adapt to the Room
In an auditorium the projector position is dictated by rigging points, sightlines, and cable routes, not by the ideal optical axis. A projector with a narrow zoom and no lens shift forces digital correction, which softens the image and wastes resolution.
The LS920WU is built for that constraint. Its 1.36–2.18:1 lens offers 1.6x zoom, and lens shift of ±23% horizontally and ±50% vertically moves the image without tilting the chassis. Horizontal and vertical keystone remain available for final trimming.
Long cable runs are the other challenge. HDBaseT accepts video and control over Cat cabling, avoiding signal boosters, while two HDMI 2.0 inputs handle local 4K-capable sources.
6,000 Lumens at WUXGA Resolution
The laser engine and single-chip DLP design produce a bright, sharp picture on screens up to 300 inches. HDR-compatible inputs and a 16ms response at 1080p/60Hz broaden its use to video playback and simulation.
Built for Long Service Life
The laser source is rated for 20,000 hours. Fan noise drops to 29dB in Eco mode, dual speakers provide local audio, and RS-232 plus network control tie into building management systems.
Setup Instructions
How to Install the ViewSonic LS920WU
- Mount the projector at 1.36 to 2.18 times the screen width from the screen.
- Run HDBaseT or HDMI cabling and connect network or RS-232 control.
- Use zoom, focus, and lens shift to frame the image before applying keystone.
- Set the light source mode and schedule power settings through the network interface.
