Its DuraCore laser lasts up to 30,000 hours, draws about 139W, and needs no lamp or filter changes, lowering running costs for schools and offices that use projectors daily.
Deep-Dive Story & Problem/Solution
Lamp Budgets and Energy Bills Add Up Across a Whole School
One classroom projector lamp is a small expense. Thirty of them, each needing replacement every year or two, is a line item, plus the staff time to fit them. Lamp projectors also draw around 280 to 330W whenever they are on.
The ZW350e replaces the lamp with a laser phosphor source rated for 30,000 hours, equivalent to about 20 years of school-day use. It consumes around 139W at full output, and the sealed optical engine has no filter to clean.
Laser also changes daily use. The projector reaches brightness quickly at the start of a lesson and can be switched off between sessions without a cool-down wait.
Bright WXGA Image for Teaching and Meetings
4,000 lumens at 1280 x 800 delivers clear text and diagrams at sizes from about 20 to 300 inches. Two HDMI inputs let a room PC and a guest laptop stay connected.
Compact, Efficient, and Low-Maintenance
The 1.54–1.72:1 lens fills a 100-inch screen from roughly 11 to 12 feet. A 15W speaker handles video audio, noise is 34dB (31dB Eco), and RS-232 supports room control.
Setup Instructions
How to Set Up the Optoma ZW350e
- Place or mount the projector 11 to 12 feet from a 100-inch 16:10 screen.
- Connect the room computer and any second source to the two HDMI inputs.
