Deep-Dive Story & Problem/Solution
Bright Classrooms Need More Lumens, Not Darker Rooms
Teachers increasingly keep lights on so students can read, write, and stay alert. A projector under 3,500 lumens turns pale in that environment, and dimming the room works against the lesson.
The PS502W supplies 4,000 ANSI lumens from a compact lamp-based DLP engine. Its 0.52 throw ratio lets it mount close to the board: 87 inches of image from 0.97 meters. That short path keeps the presenter’s shadow off the content and the light out of their eyes.
Native 1280 x 800 resolution fits the 16:10 output of most laptops and document cameras, so text and diagrams are shown at full size.
4,000 Lumens From Close Range
High output and short throw together mean a large, bright image in rooms with limited depth. Supported sizes run from 60 to 300 inches.
Straightforward Ownership
The projector weighs 6.32 lbs, draws about 295W in typical use and under 0.5W in standby, and uses a user-replaceable RLC-128 lamp module. The DLP engine needs no filter cleaning.
