The MSI PRO B660M-A CEC WiFi DDR4 is a Micro-ATX motherboard for Intel 12th, 13th and 14th Gen processors on LGA 1700. It supports up to 128GB of DDR4, two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, six SATA ports, 2.5G LAN and Wi-Fi 6. The CEC design meets California energy standards, which suits office fleets and home builds.
Lower Power Draw Without Giving Up Modern Features
Office and home PCs spend much of their time idle or asleep. Boards that are not tuned for low idle power add steady electricity cost across a fleet of machines, and some regions require compliance with energy standards for prebuilt systems.
The CEC version of the PRO B660M-A is built to meet California Energy Commission requirements, so it suits system builders shipping compliant PCs. It still includes the B660 platform features buyers expect: PCIe 4.0 graphics and storage, DDR4 memory support and fast networking.
Storage and Expansion
Two M.2 slots run at PCIe 4.0 x4 (one from the CPU, one from the chipset, which also supports SATA M.2 and Optane). Six SATA 6Gb/s ports, four from the chipset and two from an ASMedia controller, support multiple drives. The PCIe 4.0 x16 slot is joined by three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots.
Networking and I/O
A Realtek 8125BG 2.5G LAN controller and pre-installed Intel Wi-Fi 6 module with Bluetooth 5.2 handle connectivity. The rear panel includes USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and Type-A ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, HDMI 2.1 and Realtek ALC897 7.1-channel audio.
