The ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 is a Micro-ATX motherboard for AMD Ryzen 2000 to 5000 series processors on Socket AM4. It supports up to 64GB of DDR4 at 3200+ MHz (OC), an Ultra M.2 slot, four SATA3 ports and HDMI, DVI-D and D-Sub outputs. It suits budget gaming, school and office PCs.
A Budget AM4 Board With Wide CPU Support
The AM4 platform covers several Ryzen generations, but not every board supports every processor. Budget buyers want a board that works with the CPU they have now and can take a Ryzen 5000 upgrade later.
The B450M-HDV R4.0 supports Ryzen 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 series processors (newer CPUs with a BIOS update). It offers an M.2 slot for a fast SSD and three video outputs for APU builds, at a price that leaves more budget for the CPU and graphics card.
Storage and Expansion
The Ultra M.2 slot supports PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe or SATA3 M.2 SSDs. Four SATA3 ports handle additional drives. A PCIe 3.0 x16 slot runs a graphics card, and a PCIe 2.0 x1 slot accepts small expansion cards.
Display and Connectivity
HDMI, DVI-D and D-Sub outputs support Ryzen APUs without a graphics card. USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit LAN and 7.1-channel HD audio cover everyday needs.
